Tabernacles and Water's Edge

Last night I enjoyed hanging out with the middle school and high school folks who make up Water's Edge.  These folks are eager to grow and were ready to worship as we gathered together in the Manor House garage. We walked through the Old Testament tabernacle and allowed it to shape our worship together.

How many of the elements of the Israelites' worship make it into your daily life?

Gates:  Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. (Ps 100)

Altar of Sacrifice:  Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, this is you spiritual act of worship.  (Romans 12:1)

The Laver:  Confession.  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9)

Lampstand:  Don't destroy yourself by getting drunk, but let the Spirit fill your life. (Ephesians 5:18)

Table of Showbread:  Thanksgiving.

Altar of Incense:  Praying for others.  May my prayer be set before you like incense...  (Psalm 141:2)

Mercy Seat:  Intimacy with God.
